| Hello Everybody, Ronnie Here. By now you've gathered that this is it. After ten years of rockin' this area, Mustang is packing it in January 22, 2010, almost ten years to the day! We are choosing to play our last show at the coolest bar around, Double K Tavern. In this business you work for all kinds of people . I will choose to highlight some of the best. The folks at Double K Tavern..They are and always have been the nicest people I have ever worked for. Honest and dependable. generous and considerate. Believe me, they are truly a rare breed in this business. So Thank you Jim and Karen for letting us play at your place all these years. Now before I go on, I must acknowledge the back bone of Mustang. The people ( My Friends) who made the show happen night after night. The Road Crew. The best f-ing road crew on the planet. Charlie Otto, Billy Porter, Fran Kuhn and Mark Stottsberry who is currently serving this Country in Afghanistan. Mark, our thoughts and prayers are with you brother. You Guys are like family to me and remember, we will ride again. Thank you all for the many years of ball busting work in the heat and the cold for little or no pay. Thank you for the constant looking out for me and the guys and for being there all the time every time. A special thanks to Charlie Otto. My friend of 20 years. You are an old road dog just like me .. Eldorado and Mustang have put some miles on us no doubt. Remember the shrimp room... I love ya man. I couldn't have done this with out you. We have opened for the big names, we have played for packed houses and we have played when only a hand full have shown up. I personally have run the gambit of emotion with this band, been through many changes and many members. While in Mustang I have witnessed the birth and death of people I love. Mustang has provided for my family, provided a nice part time income for the many people whom I have worked with and even managed to help a few others in need. It was not all roses and confetti but, what worthwhile endeavor ever truly is? Mustang has been a huge part of my life for the last ten years ever since I got off the road with Michelle Wright. To pretend that this is no big deal to me would be futile not to mention BS so I wont try. I would like all of my friends, new friends and old friends to come out and say good bye to Mustang with me. If you played in the band at anytime, I want you to come out and share the stage with me one last time. If you follow or used to follow the band come out and party with us one last time as Mustang. ( C'mon Girls, you know who all of you are.) Please note this is not the last you will seeing me though. I'm playing with many other people and taking new gigs filling in with other bands all the time. I'm having a blast playing with BT and the Cruisers, Erin Cruz, Mike Hess, Mike Morrison and many more so, stop out and say hi. I wish to thank my Father, Ron Rhoads sr for playing Bass and Guitar and for his Guidance and support during the formative years of Mustang. Thanks to my Mom , Jo King for booking the band. Also thanks to Cathy Costello, Chris Novak and Chris Pond. Finally, I want to thank my brother Jim. He is the best. He and I pushed Mustang to heights that few local bands have attained. His immense talent and Charisma were largely responsible for our success. I will always cherish the years spent making music with my brother. Too bad it's only hindsight thats 20/20. Also much credit goes to Bassist Rob Porter and Drummer Joe Mohn for lending their amazing talents and being there through the years. Rob and Joe, I personally invite you both to come and play with all of us on Jan 22. I think we should have about a 15 piece band or so. Rumor has it Jim is showing up to sing Elvis for Shaina. I also want to thank the current incarnation of Mustang. Ric Nelson, Mike Hess, and Scott Kinsey. I am honored to play with these guys and really enjoy what we have become. You guys kick ass!!!! Thats all folks, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming out and supporting us through the years. Thank you for all the joy I have experienced on stage. It was all of you that made it fun for us. Ronnie |
